One Step At A Time
A new year, a whole new chance to start fresh–perhaps lose a few pounds or get into better shape. Right about now most of us resolve to make changes in our bodies and lives during the next twelve-month-stint. Whether you write them down or have them floating around in your head; all resolutions for the [...]
More To Chew On
It’s been a week of celebrating. Rich foods and chocolate tempt you continually and quite possibly, you’ve got a counter full of other holiday sweets and treats. It’s a good time to check in with your body and see how your stomach is feeling. Take a moment and ask yourself, are you feeling calm with [...]
Chew On This Continued
Mom said, “Clean your plate-there are children starving in Africa!” Didn’t matter if you were hungry or not, somehow it was your global responsibility to render service 8,000 miles away by eating until you were uncomfortably full. We naturally adapt to the physical world around us. We get used to things-like feeling full. Feeling full [...]
Here’s Something To Chew On
Remember the “dime store?” A pharmacy with everything you could ever want in one small store, items for less than ten cents. As a kid I’d walk the isles looking at the over the counter medicines and wonder what they all did. Back then; if you had indigestion, there were a couple of items to [...]
Just Show Up
We’re rounding the corner on the summer of ’07. In a matter of days, Foothill Boulevard will be hopping again as school starts and the days get more structured for both parents and children. The Tastes of Summer
The lazy days of summer bring fond memories of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. I grew up in Phoenix where the scorching Arizona sun can sweeten a watermelon like no other. Nothing tastes better on a hot day that an ice-cold watermelon. Maybe you recall the taste of fresh picked blueberries or blackberries. Or maybe [...]

So, I’ll ask you; how much time do you spend running to the bathroom each day? We’ve talked about many other parts of your body in [...]
Getting Better All The Time
Back in the days of Sgt. Pepper, Lennon and McCartney had it right when they said, ”You have to admit it’s getting better all the time.” If we all felt that way, we would never feel uncomfortable about telling our age. How did you feel the last time someone asked how old you are? Did [...]
Who Takes Care Of You Now?
It’s been a nice week to think about Mom and all her nurturing. I bet you made a call or sent flowers or a card. Thoughts of Mom always bring comfort. She was the nurturer and caregiver. She kept track of how many vegetables you ate and what time you went to bed. When someone came to the door and said, “Can Bobby come out to play?” Mom made the executive decision. She considered how you felt. She watched and kept track of your well-being. She made sure you weren’t thirsty, over tired, malnourished, or upset.
