Gotta Start Somewhere

Just when I pulled on my big girl panties and learned how to update my web site by myself–add my current column or a new inspirational thought to the formerly known “inspirations tab” which is now this tab, I realize it’s time that I committed to blogging. Didn’t see it coming. I thought the myriad ways I was reaching people, sharing information through my column and site was enough. But, this is better, just had to get my head around it and, it so IS. So, thanks for all the nudges, prompts, and in your face “why don’t you have a blog” comments. So, here it is. Lots coming–videos, fitness, wellness and beauty info. Hope you stay in touch.

So let’s see if I can actually post this, if you read it here, then it worked. More coming soon.  I’m shooting my exercise DVD in the next two weeks, I’ll let you know how it goes.

What is called genius is the abundance of life and health.

Budha

Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.

Another Christmas Moment

I think I’ll just sit and look at my tree,

Put my feet by the fire for a minute.

Another year’s bright spot and it feels so nice

Once again, to be wrapped up in it.

To me–each ornament is like an old friend,

These packages hold dear my secrets.

I’m wondering now, did I shop well?

I blink away “buyers regret.”

The aroma of pine and my cinnamon tea,

Dance up to warm my nose.

The smells of Christmas are all around

While the yule log warms my toes.

I sip, settle in, calm and reminiscing,

Not frantic like when the kids were small.

Each of their faces beams bright in my mind,

Swirling memories of Christmases–all.

A few trees ago, they dreamed of Santa,

And even though they have grown,

Just like me, they still believe,

And now have trees of their own.

No doll clothes to sew or toys to assemble,

So I guess it’s okay to rest

Of all the remedies known to man,

This one just might be the best.

There’s still nothing else in this whole wide world

As comforting and healing to me,

Than this Christmas joy that I still get

When I sit…and look…at my tree.

“As I see it every day you do one of two things: build health or produce disease in yourself.”

Thornton Wilder

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.

A man’s health can be judged by which he takes two at a time – pills or stairs.

Helen Keller (1880-1968)

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows.

Albert Einstein

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
